You didn't seem confused on those two points, but I included it just for the sake of others who may be wondering. It provides a boost to acceleration, jumping ships up from 0 to 5 knots very (very!) quickly. Propulsion System Modification 2 has not changed in function but it received a rename when Engine Room Protection was added to the game and had it's number changed from 2 to 1.This was later replaced with Engine Room Protection. Propulsion System Modification 1 provided a resistance to critical hits and accelerated repair time of your engines if they were knocked out.To make things even more confusing, slot upgrades were moved around too! Yay! For simplicity's sake, I will be describing the upgrade slots as they exist currently. There used to be two Propulsion Modification upgrades - 1 & 2. One of the issues with some of these older reviews is that Wargaming has renamed various upgrades and modules. Did this information change from the review several years ago? Confused, sorry! Also, I wasn’t playing the game when the review was written. Does huanghe still not need propulsion mod 1 because it’s “baked in” like British CLs? mentions this but the wiki recommends it in slot 4.
